FileTrail at ndElevate 2018

nd elevate upgrading records management software If you’re attending ndElevate 2018 next week, please do get in touch. We’d love to connect with you and share more about FileTrail solutions for information governance and records management. If you’re already a FileTrail customer, we have important updates to discuss. And if you’re not, we’d be happy to discuss how FileTrail can automate the management of information governance policies and outside counsel guidelines for all content in your NetDocuments system, making them actionable and auditable to ensure compliance. Based on our experience at ndElevate EMEA in September, we know there will be a lot of content, networking and fun to look forward to this year in Utah.

Netdocuments Highlights its Integration with Filetrail

Of course, we’re very excited that FileTrail is a featured partner in the NetDocuments ecosystem. Integration between NetDocuments and FileTrail continues to get closer. If you’re interested in a preview of what’s next, check out our blog post on the FileTrail tab feature that is on the NetDocuments roadmap for early 2019. Lawyers and staff will be able to access physical records information without ever leaving the NetDocuments application.

Easing the Transition to Paperless

One of the fascinating themes that emerged during the NetDocuments customer panel at ndElevate EMEA was a discussion about the transition to a cloud-based DMS. Many IT leaders shared their firms’ frustrations with paper-based processes — from the point of view of cost, security, ease of use, convenience, and compliance with data protection regulations including GDPR. Adopting NetDocuments for document management is a huge step in the right direction. But the transition to paperless or “paper-light” is rarely achieved overnight, and many firms discussed change management, training, and taking a phased approach to moving to electronic files across the whole firm. FileTrail helps move firms to paper lite by providing management trend reports showing all data growth, paper or electronic. Now firms can see if they are meeting their goals. This along with FileTrail’s ability to manage policies against physical and electronic records in NetDocuments or other repositories, and automate disposition workflows helps lower dependence on physical records. We’ve worked with NetDocuments on successful joint implementations at Am Law 100 firms such as Jackson Lewis and Nelson Mullins. We have also been pleased to see FileTrail users such as Husch Blackwell transition from their legacy DM to NetDocuments. And we’re happy to share what we’ve learned in terms of best practices.

A hot topic we’ve been discussing with law firms a lot recently is matter mobility as it relates to transferring client files in and out of the firm tied to lateral hires, lateral departures and client requests. If you are interested in hearing more about how FileTrail can help to automate the process of coordinating, gathering, reviewing, classifying and transferring the right matter files — significantly reducing the time, cost and risks compared to tackling this process manually — please do let us know. We look forward to seeing you!
