Full Job Description
FileTrail is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to be responsible for general accounting operations, while also partnering closely with FileTrail’s senior management team. The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities will include verifying our financial transactions, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, preparing the month-end and year-end close and creating financial reports and forecasts. The successful Senior Accountant will combine excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. Familiarity with ASC 606 and state sales tax rules will be a plus.
Responsibilities
- Full cycle accounting
- Maintain financial reports and records
- General ledger accounts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as part of the monthly close process
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Periodically, perform gross margin and expense analyses
- Manage client A/R and A/P
- Revenue Recognition and Commissions accounting and reconciliations in accordance with ASC 606
- Lease accounting and reconciliations in accordance with ASC 842
- Work with external audit and CPA firms to complete financial and tax audits
- Assist with Sales Tax and Quarterly Returns, and annual 1099s.
- Keeps current with new tax and tax law developments
Skills and Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or master’s degree in accounting/ taxation
- 5+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- A strong command of US GAAP accounting principles
- Detailed knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Team player with proven ability to take initiative, work efficiently and deliver results in a timely manner
- Prior experience with a SaaS company preferred
- Experience with multi-entity consolidation, foreign currency and transfer pricing a plus
