FileTrail was founded in 2000 to solve the complex issue of physical records management and was quickly established as the leader in full lifecycle IG management for large law firms throughout the United States. Today, we offer a complete solution to centralize, simplify and automate the management of physical records as well as retention, disposition and matter mobility for electronic records across multiple repositories.

Harold WEstervelt

Harold Westervelt

Chief Executive Officer

With over 20 years of experience in executive level roles at financial services and software companies, Harold joined FileTrail in the fall of 2021 as CEO to promote continued excellence in product development and expansion into additional markets. Harold has an MBA in Finance from California State University, East Bay. He enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife and four children and splits his time between Austin, TX and Maryland.

Meghan Bofenkamp

CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER

Meghan began her career at FileTrail as a Project Manager in 2011. Her previous positions include Manager of Customer Implementation and Support, Director of Professional Services, COO, and now CPO (Chief Product Officer). Meghan lives in Austin, TX, and enjoys staying active playing soccer, kickball and paddle boarding. If you visit the office, you will likely find FileTrail’s unofficial mascot, Meghan's dog Chuck, basking in his role as official greeter. Meghan holds a Bachelor of Science from Lees McRae College where she also played women's varsity soccer.

Kedar Kulkarni

Chief Operating Officer

Kedar comes to FileTrail with several decades of experience running Professional Services business in US, UK, EMEA as well as APAC. Coming from the fintech side of the house, Kedar joined FileTrail as Vice President of Operations in January of 2024 before being promoted to COO (Chief Operating Officer). Kedar and his family are based out of the United Kingdom, and he holds multiple graduate degrees, including an MBA from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.

Timothy Welsh

Chief Development Officer

Tim has been a valued FileTrail member since 2020, when he joined the team as a Senior Developer. Over the next few years, he has held roles as Director of Application Development and is now the CDO (Chief Development Officer). Tim previously served in the US Army and now lives in the Seattle, Washington area of the USA. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and Drexel University's LeBow College of Business.

Mark Miles

Chief Financial Officer

Joining in 2023, Mark is FileTrail’s results-focused CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and has a successful track record of reducing operating costs, increasing profit margins and optimizing strategy. Mark is an expert at FP&A, with significant experience managing GAAP and tax audits, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, financial controls and information technology systems. He lives in Austin, Texas, and holds an MBA from IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics.

Jamie Richgels

Jamie Richgels

VP of Strategy & Board Member

As the Vice President of Technology and partner at FileTrail from 2001-2021, Jamie focused on the development of the world-class FileTrail information governance solution and was instrumental in establishing FileTrail as the leader in information governance around the globe. Jamie holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, specializing in Computational Perception, Robotics & AI. Jamie lives in Washington, DC with his family and spends his time mentoring his daughters in their competitive robotics programs. He enjoys all things science and technology, woodworking and home renovations, and is an advocate for childhood cancer research.

Darrell Mervau

Board Member, Emeritus

Darrell was the Co-founder and President of FileTrail. He attended San Francisco State University, studying International Relations, and then spent his entire career in the field of information management and governance. Though he passed in 2023, his spirit and dedication to FileTrail never wavered, inspiring all who had the privilege of working with him. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and three children.

Tom Pemberton

Tom Pemberton

Board Member

Prior to co-founding FileTrail, Tom received an MBA from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and held executive level roles at records management solutions software companies with extensive product and technical experience. Tom enjoys hosting parties centered around making pizzas in a wood-fired oven that he built. He is passionate about 16th Century Europe –learning about developments in business and society, and incorporating artifacts and furnishings into his creative construction projects.

Beth Anne Stuebe

Vice President of Marketing Operations

Beth Anne is a long-time legal and publishing professional who comes to FileTrail from the educational and public relations side of legal tech. Over the last decade, she has worked to publish and progress legal tech conversations and she continues to actively volunteer in the space. She studied at Elizabethtown College and the University of Gloucestershire and ran cross country and played lacrosse at uni. She currently splits her time between Vermont and New Jersey.
