FileTrail was recently chosen by Foley & Lardner LLP to upgrade its enterprise records management (RM) and information governance (IG) systems. The implementation is being overseen by information governance consulting firm InOutsource and includes integration of FileTrail’s best-in-class RMS with the firm’s document management system, NetDocuments. A second phase includes the installation of GPS, FileTrail’s recently launched IG policy suite.
Automating information governance is critical to success
With nearly 1,100 lawyers in 24 offices in the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe, Foley & Lardner is a leading U.S. firm. As it continues to expand, its success depends on its ability to look beyond the law and focus on the ever-evolving industry regulations facing its clients. As a result, information governance is now a major priority for Foley and other leading law firms.
When evaluating records management solutions, Foley examined how new technology would enable the firm to manage retention and disposition to comply with clients’ outside counsel guidelines. In the end, the firm selected FileTrail.
InOutsource supports the transition
Consulting firm InOutsource assisted Foley with its search for a new RM and IG solution. As the firm rolls out the new system, it will oversee implementation. The first phase will start with FileTrail’s records management system, including integration with the firm’s document management system, NetDocuments. A second phase will include the installation of GPS, FileTrail’s comprehensive IG tool.
Of the project, InOutsource president Nancy Beauchemin said:
“Foley & Lardner is well respected throughout the legal information governance community, and we’re very excited to advance their already robust IG program with a FileTrail implementation. Our implementation team will leverage FileTrail’s powerful configuration tools to deploy a system that upholds Foley & Lardner’s policies and outside counsel guidelines.”
Foley is confident FileTrail is Future-Proof
Foley’s team is excited about FileTrail’s future-forward approach to retention and records management. Director of information governance Randy Oppenborn said:
“An investment of this scope requires extensive research and knowledge of our firm requirements to ensure the right product is chosen and that it will meet our needs today and well into the future. FileTrail’s partnership with NetDocuments and its forward-thinking and holistic approach to retention, incorporating both firm IG policies and OCG, made them the clear choice for our firm. InOutsource was instrumental in helping the firm through its evaluation and selection process. We are confident in its recommendation of FileTrail for our records management and IG solutions.”
FileTrail is the best choice for automating information governance
In 2017, FileTrail introduced several new features that make it easier for firms to transition off legacy records management systems. In January 2018 the company introduced FileTrail GPS™, Governance Policy Suite, a comprehensive information governance solution designed to help law firms improve retention and disposition. FileTrail GPS revolutionizes how law firms implement IG policies to comply with outside counsel guidelines. GPS helps firms manage retention policies across all repositories within their ecosystem and automates review cycles to achieve auditable, defensible disposition.
